On February 7th, two young musicians, Xavier and Éliott, members of the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra and graduates of Sistema NB Edmundston, had the privilege of taking part in the Grand Rassemblement des Cordes, a major musical event held on the stage of the Grand Théâtre de Québec.  During this concert, they shared the stage with the musicians of the Quebec Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of conductor Leandro Cardoso, as well as with more than 300 young instrumentalists from the Quebec City region, the participation of our students having been made possible thanks to the support of a musician from the OSQ.

In the concert, Xavier performed the 1st movement of Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5, and Éliott played Dance of the Tumblers by Rimsky-Korsakov as well as the Ballad from Sibelius’s Karelia Suite.

Performing on a major stage alongside professional musicians was an unforgettable and inspiring experience for them. Congratulations to Xavier, Éliott, and all the participants for this special day celebrating string music!
