The Madawaska Youth Ensemble  MYE is the newest addition to the regional youth orchestras of our province, joining the Moncton Youth Orchestra, the Saint John Youth Orchestra, and the Miramichi Youth String Orchestra. Together, these ensembles represent the highest level of excellence within the Sistema NB program.

Based at the Sistema NB Edmundston Centre, in the heart of the Madawaska region, the MYE offers talented young musicians a unique and inspiring orchestral experience. This ensemble is dedicated to developing not only musical mastery, but also discipline, teamwork, and a strong sense of belonging to a dynamic and inclusive artistic community.

Under the direction of Eliezer Rangel and the outstanding Sistema NB Edmundston faculty team, the MYE fosters a deep love of orchestral music and creates an environment where every student can thrive. Rehearsals combine full-orchestra sessions with instrument-specific workshops, striking a balance between technical rigor and the joy of making music together.

Each season, the MYE will present concerts showcasing the talent, dedication, and passion of its members. These performances strengthen ties with the local community while offering young musicians valuable opportunities to perform on stage and proudly share their music.

Auditions for the MYE will take place each spring (May–June) and are open to students who demonstrate the required level of technical ability and commitment. Joining the MYE means becoming part of a provincial musical tradition that promotes excellence, creativity, and collaboration.

The Madawaska Youth Ensemble is proud to represent the northwest region of New Brunswick within Sistema NB and aims to inspire future generations through the transformative power of music.
