Moncton, NB — The New Brunswick Youth Orchestra (NBYO) is delighted to announce the appointment of Kenn Mainville as its new President and Chief Executive Officer effective February 12, 2024.
A New Brunswick native, Kenn is also an experienced organizational leader who will provide strategic vision and leadership for all aspects of NBYO and Sistema NB operations, to enhance NBYO’s work as a social impact organization.
The Board is also pleased to note that outgoing President & CEO, Ken MacLeod, will remain with NBYO throughout 2024, assisting in the smooth and successful transition of the incoming CEO.
“As the father of former orchestra members and having served on the board of directors of NBYO many years ago, returning to New Brunswick to take the baton from Ken MacLeod feels like a homecoming. I am so excited to get to work,” said Mainville.
Mainville brings a wealth of experience and expertise, having worked as a consultant with over 100 non-profit organizations across Canada. Over more than 30 years he led strategic planning, volunteer engagement, major gift strategy, capital campaigns and corporate partnerships.
As an organizational leader, his most recent role as Director of Development at The Mustard Seed, a non-profit organization operating in five cities across Alberta and British Columbia saw Mainville play a pivotal and visionary role in securing $7 million per year in major gifts.
“The committee is confident that Mainville will bring his passion, strategic vision, and collaborative leadership style to further the core mission of the organization,” said Réjean Boudreau, Chair of the NBYO Board of Directors.
“His proven ability to inspire and lead high-performance teams aligns perfectly with the NBYO’s commitment to nurturing young talent through music education. We are thrilled to welcome him to NBYO,”
Mainville is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) and with additional credentials based on his mastery of advanced fundraising technologies. He also contributes to the non-profit sector as a volunteer, including as Founding President of the Association of Fundraising Professionals – NB Chapter and early involvements with the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra/Sistema NB.
New Brunswick Youth Orchestra is deeply grateful to the search committee for their time and effort working with KBRS Executive Search on this critical appointment.
Congratulations Kenn, and welcome to NBYO!
