Oromocto
In 2025, the Sistema NB Oromocto Centre officially opened its doors, introducing a transformative program aimed at enriching the lives of children through the power of music. The centre serves a diverse group of students from ASD-W’s Summerhill Street Elementary School, and Hubbard Elementary School, as well as DSFS’s École Arc-en-ciel.
With generous support from the Department of Veterans Affairs Canada, funded by the Veterans and Family Well-being Fund, the centre proudly extends its programs to serve Military and Veteran families.
In keeping with military tradition, the program focuses on a traditional band curriculum, offering instruction in woodwinds, brass, and percussion. This approach honours the heritage of military bands while fostering a sense of pride and community among participants.
This initiative reflects a commitment to community and accessibility, working in close partnership with the Anglophone School District – West and District scolaire francophone Sud. Together, these partnerships aim to inspire young minds and strengthen the community through music education.
