You might remember that back in October, 100 young musicians from Sistema NB travelled to Toronto to take part in The Promise of Music World Congress. There, they performed Wild Symphony by Dan Brown, narrated by Academy Award–nominated actor Viggo Mortensen of Lord of the Rings fame.
During his time in Toronto, Mortensen sat down with CBC host David Common and shared some generous reflections on performing alongside Sistema NB musicians.
“They’ve been remarkable. Just the idea, the way they play together, how talented they are, but also how well they get along and how great the teachers are.
I mean, it’s just been inspiring to be with them on stage and hear them play. It’s like being inside a speaker with a fantastic symphony orchestra.”
For our students, moments like these affirm what they already know through daily practice: that their hard work, discipline, and collaboration open doors to extraordinary experiences and world-class stages.
